About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join the Unified Regulatory Platform (URP) initiative. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and aligning scalable, supportable, and standards-based data architectures that support global regulatory operations and digital transformation.
You will collaborate with Regulatory SMEs, implementation and service partners, product teams, and technology stakeholders to build solutions that enable regulatory product mastering, submission management, labeling, health authority interactions, and data integration across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities

Design extensible data architectures aligned with the Unified Regulatory Platform (URP), J&J R&D, and enterprise data strategies

Create data artifacts: Data Flow Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams, Data Integration Documents, etc., using J&J-standard tooling

Identify and document authoritative data sources and integration needs across regulatory solutions

Communicate and collaborate effectively on regulatory processes, including IDMP, Veeva Vault RIM, submission management, publishing, labeling, and health authority interactions

Act as a trusted partner and coach for IT and business stakeholders in data governance, quality, and integration best practices

Drive data-driven decision-making with actionable insights based on architectural principles

Support and align with regulatory and enterprise data governance frameworks and stewardship policies
2025 Deliverables
-
Partner with the Regulatory Data Office to define and implement procedures for data harmonization and remediation in preparation for URP migration

Support Regulatory product mastering and mapping of critical URP data and document objects in LeanIX and Erwin

Develop domain and boundary-level data flow diagrams
-
Map data lineage for URP product master data, including upstream/downstream systems

Collaborate with the Regulatory Data Hub team to support operational data ingestion, transformation, and analytics enablement

Contribute to profiling and governance of critical path data in URP

Assist in aligning overlapping data initiatives (ePI/eLabeling, IDMP) with URP strategy
Required Skills & Experience
-
7+ years as a Data Architect in pharmaceutical R&D environments
-
Proven experience working with both structured and unstructured data
-
Deep understanding of regulatory data domains and associated systems
-
Experience with Snowflake and/or Denodo
-
Strong background in cloud architecture (AWS preferred)

Product Master Data Management experience is a plus

Familiarity with Veeva Vault RIM and Vault API integrations is preferred

Ability to create and maintain high-quality documentation and data modeling artifacts
Education & Certifications

BA/BS degree in a technical, engineering, or scientific field

AWS Data Engineer Certification (or Azure/GCP equivalent) – preferred

AWS Well-Architected Framework certification – a plus
