As we scale, we are looking for a Team Lead Back-End Developer who will play a key role in driving our backend engineering efforts, supporting our corporate strategy, and creating long-term value for the organization.

What You’ll Do

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Lead and mentor a team of backend developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and technical excellence.

• Provide regular feedback, conduct 1:1s, and support team members in their career growth.

• Review code, resolve technical challenges, and offer hands-on guidance when needed.

Technical Ownership & Architecture

• Own the design and development of scalable backend systems using PHP (Symfony, Laravel, etc.), Node.js, and Kubernetes.

• Ensure backend architecture aligns with business and technical goals.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend, DevOps, product, and design teams.

Platform Development

• Drive the development and scaling of our e-commerce platform.

• Work on core backend features, integrations (e.g., payment gateways, third-party services), and performance optimization.

Process & Best Practices

• Promote best practices in backend development including code quality, testing, CI/CD, and observability.

• Lead adoption of modern tools, architecture, and agile methodologies.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define priorities, timelines, and deliverables.

• Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of backend development experience, ideally in e-commerce platforms.

• 2+ years of experience leading backend teams.

• Strong knowledge of PHP and frameworks like Symfony or Laravel.

• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB).

• Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ or similar message brokers.

• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud architectures.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git.

• Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for scalable, performant systems.

• Excellent communication skills in English (Upper-Intermediate+) and Ukrainian.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Magento, Shopify, or other e-commerce solutions.

• Proficiency in additional languages such as Python or JavaScript.

• Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud, or other cloud platforms.

• Background in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
