Engineering Manager / Delivery Lead

The Engineering Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring high client satisfaction, optimizing gross profit margin (GPM), and maintaining team satisfaction across both fixed-price and staff augmentation projects.
This person should not only manage day-to-day operations but also take a proactive role in addressing risks, improving processes, and identifying growth opportunities for the business.
The role requires high agency, ownership, transparency, and proactive problem-solving to deliver exceptional client experiences and team performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Own and lead end-to-end delivery for staff augmentation and fixed-price projects.
- Act as technical lead: troubleshoot, review code, guide technical decisions.
- Support pre-sales with scoping, estimation, and client presentations.
- Hire and evaluate top-tier engineers; ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
- Track and improve KPIs: delivery speed, client satisfaction (NPS), engineer pass rates, retention, GPM%.

Experience & Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Engineering management / project management for IT services projects.
- Strong technical background – can code, debug, and review (5+/10 hands-on).
- Experience with fixed-price projects – discovery, risk planning, and execution.
- Excellent communicator; can sell technical ideas even for non tech clients.
- Experience optimizing GPM and managing budgets for service-based projects.
- Strong background in hiring and managing engineers, designers, QAs, and BAs.
- Knowledge of process optimization and AI-driven efficiency improvements.
- Experience working with remote, globally distributed teams.
- At least three hours overlap with PST to ensure effective collaboration.
Engagement Structure
Starts as a part-time contract to ensure mutual fit. Top performance leads to full-time role with potential profit-sharing/equity.
The ideal candidate is someone who was a mobile engineer, then a full-stack or other engineer, has good communication skills and wants to be in management or be an Engineering Manager/VP/CTO, etc.
