Database Administrator (Rust, PostgreSQL)

Join our team as a Database Administrator responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing our PostgreSQL database infrastructure. Your Responsibilities:

• Provide support for database design initiatives and ongoing administration, including troubleshooting system issues, refactoring database instances, and conducting preventative maintenance.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient database design and implementation, assisting in the development and upkeep of database-related documentation.
• Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL databases/shards, overseeing refreshes of test, staging, and development environments.
• Monitor database performance, optimize databases, and enhance query performance to ensure optimal application performance.

What We're Looking For:

• Hands-on experience administering, monitoring, and optimizing PostgreSQL databases in a production environment.
• Ability to analyze database performance metrics, offer insights into performance enhancements, and suggest new database features to support application requirements.
• Proven experience in monitoring and troubleshooting PostgreSQL databases, with a focus on maintaining high availability and reliability.
• Willingness to participate in rotating on-call duty during working hours to address database-related incidents promptly.
• Familiarity with Rust or another low-level language is a plus, but not required.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a multinational team across various time zones.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with database refactoring techniques and strategies.
• Proficiency in database schema design and optimization.
• Knowledge of database backup and recovery strategies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing and resolving database issues.
