About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a mission-driven healthcare organization dedicated to transforming patient outcomes through data. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect ELT pipelines, develop robust data models, and champion data governance practices. Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable data models within our data lakehouse for analytics and reporting use cases.

Build, optimize, and maintain modern ELT pipelines following best practices in data engineering.

Collaborate with analytics, product, and data science teams to deliver data for decision-making, reporting, and modeling.

Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy regulations in partnership with compliance and IT.

Contribute to and help shape our long-term data strategy, architecture, and tooling choices.

Develop and maintain documentation such as data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and architectural decisions.

Implement data quality testing using tools such as dbt tests.

Occasionally support Salesforce data pipelines and integrations for reporting and analytics.
Must-Have Qualifications

5+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or analytics engineering.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation and automation.

Expertise in data modeling, including:

Star & Snowflake schemas
-
Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCDs)

Normalized/Denormalized structures
-
One Big Table (OBT) design
-

Hands-on experience with dbt in a production analytics stack.

Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.

Familiarity with Git-based development workflows and collaborative coding practices.

Proficient with AWS (S3, EC2, IAM) and related data services.

Experience with data documentation and cataloging tools.

Understanding of BI/reporting models and supporting tools (e.g., QuickSight, Power BI, Sigma).

Knowledge of U.S. healthcare systems and handling medical claims data.

Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, pharma, or insurance).

Familiarity with data privacy, security, and governance best practices.
Bonus Points For

Experience with Apache Spark, especially on Databricks.

Exposure to both OLTP and OLAP environments.

Experience supporting data science or machine learning pipelines.

Hands-on integration experience with Salesforce CRM.

Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.
